There\u2019s a pattern I kept seeing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
A trader would start strong. They\u2019d watch videos, read charts, learn setups, maybe even build a decent strategy. For a few weeks, it worked. They felt smart, in control, maybe even a little invincible.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
And then the same thing would happen again: one bad day, one overconfident trade, one revenge entry, and suddenly the account was bleeding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
That\u2019s when I realized something important \u2014 most F&O traders in India don\u2019t lose because they don\u2019t know enough strategy. They lose because strategy is not the real problem.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The real problem is behavior.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Indian F&O trading is fast, emotional, and brutally unforgiving. A trader doesn\u2019t just need a setup. They need discipline under pressure, patience when bored, and emotional control when the market starts going against them. That\u2019s much harder than drawing support and resistance lines.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The truth is, many traders already know what they should do. They know they should cut losses quickly. They know they shouldn\u2019t overtrade after a big loss. They know they should size positions properly. But in the moment, all that knowledge disappears.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
What replaces it is impulse.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
That\u2019s where the damage begins. A trader starts chasing candles. Then comes the second trade, meant to recover the first loss. Then the third, meant to \u201cmake the day back.\u201d By the time the market closes, the original mistake has turned into a chain reaction.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
So when people say 90% of F&O traders lose money, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s because 90% are incapable. I think it\u2019s because F&O exposes the weakest part of trading: the mind.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
